Life was a lot easier when I didn’t have Balatro installed on three of my devices. Not because it’s bad by any means – quite the opposite. It’s addictive and has kept millions of players like myself attached to the screen, desperate to complete its many challenges. The good news for those who haven’t grabbed it yet is that now you can purchase it at its lowest price ever – become one of us, I dare you.
Even if you’re not used to playing card games like Poker, Balatro is remarkably simple to play. The indie roguelike gives you varying challenges to complete, with each deck offering different benefits (or, alternatively, curveballs) as the stakes get higher. However, you can use a bunch of random joker cards, as well as other consumables, to make it easier for yourself.
While the game is already available at a great price, setting you back just $14.99 / £12.79 for potentially hundreds of hours of fun, it’s now available at a 10% discount. Balatro is easily worth the full asking price, but at $13.49 / £11.51, it’s even more reasonable. Personally, I’m not huge on card games, but as a self-proclaimed roguelike connoisseur, this is one of the best on the market.
If you decide to purchase Balatro through Fanatical, you’ll also get some excellent gifts during Fanatical’s Birthday Bash. For a short time, any purchase over $12 / £12 will reveal a free game or a coupon, allowing you to get more bang for your buck.
If you’ve had even a small interest in this Balatro, this deal is a must-have, but be quick, as it’s only available until Friday, November 15. Even if you miss out, I recommend picking it up.
However, if you want to play some other genres, there are plenty of deals on Fanatical right now – including one free PC game and a boatload of Bethesda RPG deals. Here are some excellent options below:
- Spirit of the North (free if you sign up for the Fanatical newsletter)
- Resident Evil 4 remake (58% off)
- Persona 5 Royal (63% off)
- Rimworld (27% off)
- Dying Light 2 Reloaded Edition (61% off)
Alternatively, if you want to play the addictive card game on Mac or iPhone, you can technically play it for free with an Apple Arcade subscription, and considering there’s a free trial for the iPhone gaming service, there’s no excuse to give Balatro a go.
If you’re looking to broaden your horizons, we’ve got a number of game recommendations for you in our list of the best RPG games and best FPS games – several of which are also in the Fanatical sale.
