You read that headline right, Fortnite OG is back for good. Epic Games just dropped a surprise announcement confirming that the once limited-time revival of the battle royale game’s early days is making a return, and this time it’s here to stay. It also sounds as though multiple OG seasons will be a part of the new permanent game mode, so I’d expect to see Epic rotate through early content on a loop. Either way, you don’t have long to wait for Fortnite OG’s return.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect reason to jump back into Fortnite, this is it. The battle royale game has been constantly evolving and expanding for years, but I’m one of many who have been yearning for a return to what made the game great in the first place.
“This. Is. Not. A. Drill,” Epic Games writes. “OG is coming BACK and is here to stay. Relive Battle Royale from the start and explore the OG map, collect OG loot, and relive OG seasons.”
Chapter 4: Season OG originally ended late last year, bringing the nostalgic trip back to the game’s past to a quick end. Since then, players have been clamoring for a return to the OG season. Loot, island locations, and items from the early days of Fortnite were the focus, and now you’ll be able to take yourself back to simpler times for good.
Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite OG is back and here to stay starting Thursday December 6 in the battle royale game.
