A list of all the best D4 gems including their stats, how to craft and upgrade them, how to create additional sockets, and how to unlock the jeweler.

What do Diablo 4 gems do? These useful items can be applied to your gear to increase defensive, offensive, or resistance stats, depending on the gear you apply them to. You’ll find sockets on your armor, jewelry, and weapons where you can slot gems into place by using the jeweler at most villages.
Diablo 4 gems can be crafted or found in the open world obtained from chests and ores, and they can then be combined by a Diablo 4 jeweler to create more powerful, upgraded versions, so it’s worth picking up all that you see. Check out our Diablo 4 classes hub to help you decide who you’re going to slay the streets of Sanctuary as, and the best builds for each of them.
All Diablo 4 gems
There are seven different types of gems in Diablo 4: Skulls, Amethyst, Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Topaz – each providing different benefits depending on their tier and rarity. To craft better gems, you need to combine three gems of the same tier and pay a certain amount of gold. We’ll be sure to update this guide when we’ve discovered all the gems in the RPG game.

How to craft D4 gems
Crafting gems in Diablo 4 requires gathering crude crystals and skulls around Sanctuary, and combining them into a higher-tier gem with a jeweler. Obtain raw gems by destroying ore veins. While gems can drop from any ore vein, they are more likely to appear from rarer Glittering Ore Veins. There is also a chance that you will receive gems from chests.

How to unlock the Diablo 4 jeweler
When your character reaches level 20, you will trigger the priority quest Gem Crafting, which unlocks the Diablo 4 jeweler Kratia in Kyovashad. Once you complete the quest, you can interact with any jeweler in villages across Sanctuary. To check if a town has a jeweler, hover over the waypoint in your Diablo 4 map and check for the gem icon.
